Thai-Yoga Massage in Marbella

Do you know the benefits of Thai-Yoga Massage in Marbella? Here is everything you need to know about this healing technique that is over 2,500 years old, closely related to the Ayurvedic medicine of India and the later spread of Buddhism in Asia.

What is Thai-Yoga Massage?

“Thai-yoga is the practice of connecting with oneself, with others and with the world around us. This massage technique seeks to focus on one’s own experience and to broaden the understanding of the relationship between body and mind”.

Thai-yoga massage is based on two of the three basic principles of Thai massage: these two principles are stretching and compression.

The third principle is the pressure points: they are located along the energy lines (Sen Bb) and are passively activated. Since the energy lines run through the whole body, any movement and pressure is coupled to the energy lines themselves.

This massage technique is sometimes known in the West as “Assisted Yoga”, this is because during its practice manipulations are performed that lead the receiver’s body into postures similar to the Yoga Asanas, with the particularity that the receiver does not need to move, he/she has to be relaxed and all the action is performed by the masseur.

Benefits of Thai-Yoga Massage

Through Thai Yoga massage, relaxation is achieved through specific actions and movements from the Yoga Asanas, surrendering our body and mind to the subtle force. An energy that can be unleashed through the postures and breathing of this massage technique.

  • It promotes muscle tone, reduces tension.
  • Improves posture and increases flexibility.
  • Muscles, ligaments, fasciae (connective tissue) and tendons become more flexible.
  • It promotes and facilitates physical and mental relaxation.

Indications for Thai-Yoga Massage

Thai-Yoga Massage is especially indicated in the following cases:

  • Joint pain due to incorrect postures and movements, arthrosis and arthritis.
  • Deformities of the spine such as lordosis, kyphosis and scoliosis.
  • Lack of flexibility or muscle tone.
  • Neuralgia.
  • Insomnia.
  • Nervousness and relaxation difficulties.

Particular specificities of Thai-yoga massage:

There are four basic points on which the Thai-Yoga massage technique is based:

  • Meditation. This is directly related to “intention, concentration and presence” in what is being done. Performing it in a meditative attitude of service to the person.
  • Postures. Both receiver and therapist adopt Yoga postures that facilitate both the execution of the massage and the care of the body structure.
  • Balancing. From a meditative attitude and a series of postures in movement, the work is carried out through a series of constant swaying movements. These swings facilitate the execution of the massage technique from the body weight and never from the force exerted by our muscles.
  • Touch Technique. Independently of the specific techniques for physical touches such as kneading, pressure, etc., this is related to the “touch technique”. This point is related to “compassionate love or loving kindness” (Metta): the desire to increase and sustain the happiness of others.
